Code Week 2019
Mariya Gabriel, European Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society, shared her congratulations to all participants of EU Code Week 2019, which was again a record-breaking year for the initiative with over 66 000 activities organized, approximately 22 000 more than in the 2018 edition.
Commissioner Gabriel highlighted the different activities organized across Europe and beyond, involving not only coding, but also unplugged activities, computational thinking exercises, robotics, and visual programming across different subjects and member states, and shared her enthusiasm for students becoming active contributors to the digital world, expanding their critical thinking skills, and learning how to be safe online.
